As per the latest news from BBC, a severe earthquake has occurred near the Syrian border in southeastern Turkey, claiming the lives of over 42,000 people while they were sleeping and trapping many others.

The United States Geological Survey has reported that the tremor with a magnitude of 7.8 struck at 04:17 local time (01:17 GMT) close to the city of Gaziantep, at a depth of 17.9km (11 miles). A second quake with a magnitude of 7.5 hit the Elbistan district of Kahramanmaras province several hours later.
